Terms of use

By using What Cat Breed you agree to these terms. They are short: the tool is free, a result describes your cat's looks and not its ancestry, and you use it at your own discretion.

What the service is

What Cat Breed is a free website that estimates which cat breeds a cat looks like from a photo. It is run by 1000 Ventures OÜ. There is no account, no fee and no sign-up.

Results describe looks, not ancestry

The scanner compares how your cat looks with photos of 31 breeds and ordinary house cats. It can be wrong, especially with blurry, dark or partial photos, young kittens and breeds that look like house cats. A result is not a pedigree, a breed certificate or a veterinary opinion. Do not use it to buy, sell, register or price a cat. For proof of a breed, use pedigree papers or a cat DNA test. For health questions, see a vet.

Your photos

Photos are analyzed in memory and deleted right away, as described in our privacy policy. Only upload photos you took or have the right to use.

Breed information

Breed facts such as weight and lifespan are typical ranges. Individual cats vary a lot. The breed images on this site are illustrations created for it, not photos of specific cats.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We may change, pause or stop the service at any time. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using it.
