What does a Birman look like?
The Birman has a pale, semi-long coat with darker points on the face, ears, legs and tail, and sapphire blue eyes. Its trademark is four white paws, called gloves, that end neatly at the joint. The coat is silky and has little undercoat, so it mats less than many longhairs.
Birman personality
Birmans are quiet, affectionate and easygoing. They like to be near their people and get along well with children and other pets.
How to care for a Birman
Brush once or twice a week. The silky coat rarely tangles, but it sheds more in spring.
How do I know if my cat is a Birman?
White gloves on all four paws plus a colorpoint coat and blue eyes point to a Birman. A Ragdoll can look very similar. Ragdolls are usually bigger, and mitted Ragdolls have a white chin and a white stripe on the belly.
